SUMMARY:Leadership Forum 2021 Summit: Leading to Repair - "And"\, The Grace Between Right or Wrong
DESCRIPTION:“And”\, The Grace Between Right or Wrong\nHow can Polarity Thinking help heal a community or organization?\nCliff Kayser MSOD\, MSHR\, PCC\nChandra Irvin\, M.Ed.\, MDIV\nMargaret Seidler\, MPA\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn about the power of “AND.” Participants leave the session invigorated with a renewed sense of empowerment and hope for a better future in our communities and workplaces. They begin to see the possibilities of the influential roles they can play going forward using a polarity lens. Participants surface their issues of interest\, where finding common ground\, in spite of differences\, can reverse the energy of resistance and polarization. \nThis session will focus on a case study on Polarity Thinking in the Charleston Illumination Project where the aim was to better society by giving equal voice to citizens\, finding common ground for the good of the whole community\, and adopting ideas for change embraced by a city police chief and his department in Charleston\, SC. With that foundation\, you will explore how a polarity lens can be utilized in reducing polarization and increasing willingness for healing and repairing within your organization and communities. \nThe Charleston Illumination Project grew out of the community response to a  race motivated mass shooting in a black church in Charleston\, SC in 2015. \n\n\nRegister for this online session here

SUMMARY:Stepping Into Purpose Retreat — A Weekend in Nature
DESCRIPTION:Is this a time of transition in your life? Are you interested in being clearer about what you want in your life and your purpose? Is it time to slow down and listen deeply? Come join us! \nDates: Friday\, October 12\, 2018 2pm – Sunday\, October 14\, 2018 3pm \nThe Retreat\n\nWork with a model for wholeness that draws on the four seasons and directions of the compass\nStep into nature and your senses – this can be hiking\, walking\, or sitting in community and alone\nBe introduced to rituals and practices that can enhance your inquiry\, exploration\, intuition\, sense of fun and imagination\nExperience a supportive community that enhances your experience through story-telling\, mirroring and sharing of intentions.\nIf interested\, sample different types of meditation\, Tai Chi\, poetry\, yoga and visual art\n\nWhy Nature?\nResearch has shown that simply being in nature enhances the positive emotions of joy\, awe\, optimism and courage. The energetic waves found in nature are those found in the human brain when in deep meditation. Nature de-stresses us and reminds us who we truly are. \nNature allows us to walk our talk\, to choose a different path\, to experience getting lost and finding our path again. Those lessons come from listening to our bodies\, hearts and souls. \nNature allows us to sharpen our senses and to have a more expansive\, deeper and slower experience. Nature doesn’t judge us or make meaning for us or nudge us in any way. Nature simply is – and in relationship to nature\, we can test ourselves\, listen to our inner voice and listen to what nature might even tell us about ourselves and our next steps\, life phases or paths. We come from nature – it is our home. \nWho are your guides?\nChristiane Frischmuth\, a certified wilderness rites of passage/vision fast guide\, coach\, team builder and Yoga Teacher with over 25 years of experience in guiding people to discover their true soul and bring it into being. She has participated in many vision fasts and wilderness rites of passage as well as survival training and wilderness first aid. She is an avid backpacker and hiker. \nCliff Kayser\, MSHR/OD\, PCC a professionally certified coach\, polarity thinking teacher and practitioner with thirty years of experience as an organizational development working with leaders\, teams\, and organizations. Cliff has practiced Tai Chi for 30 years and has a deep appreciation for eastern philosophies and wisdom teachings. \nSally Colella\, MA\, PCC is a profesionally trained facilitator\, coach\, meditation teacher and yoga instructor. With over more than thirty years of experience working with leaders and groups in global organizations\, she has coached thousands of individuals in finding deeper meaning in their lives\, work and relationships. \nLogistics\nWe will provide simple meals and accommodate those who eat fish/poultry\, vegans\, vegetarians and those who are gluten-free. We suggest eliminating or reducing alcohol and caffeine during the retreat to enhance your ability to tune into all your natural senses. \nWe will be based at the Lodge at Kayser Ridge. The large\, light-filled space includes a number of comfortable areas to gather together or reflect individually. Sleeping spaces range from single bedroom to dorm-style accommodations and all bathrooms are shared. There are two kitchens and storage space for personal food and beverage items. \nSpacious decks invite to experience open sunny views and starry nights. \nWhat are my payment options?\nFull payment for the program is $350. \n$100 Deposit due upon acceptance to program to secure your place. Payment is due in full by 8/30/2018. \nWe accept checks for payment. \nWould you like to register or chat? email sally@colellaassociates.com or christiane@gfconsulting.org

When Polarities in issues and challenges are identified and leveraged well\, the end-goals and objectives can be attained with increased speed and sustainability. Coaches and Clients who leverage polarities well have a distinct performance advantage over the ones that don’t. \n9/17 kicks-off part one of a two-part series with an interactive focus on a key polarity all Coaches face in the coaching relationship. Learning and applying the Polarity Map® and process to a tension of our own\, will enable us to better apply the process with Clients. Part two on 10/2 brings attention to common polarity tensions Clients face and we’ll apply the same process interactively using the Polarity Map® to explore and organize the wisdom in the room. \nLearning objectives participants can expect to achieve are: \n\nImprove Coach and Client performance by providing an overview/awareness between solvable problems and unsolvable (but leverage-able) polarities;\nSimplify some of the complexity in the Coach / Client relationship;\nLearn how resistance in polarity tensions can be used as a resource; and\,\nSupport accelerating learning and development for Coaches and Clients.\n\nLearning Objectives:\nBy the end of part 1 (9/17 — COACH FOCUS)\, participants will be able to: \n\nDistinguish between solvable problems and unsolvable (but leverage-able) interdependent pairs or “polarities\,” and review a list of common polarities that all Coaches are “in”;\nSee and Map a polarity in the Coaching relationship using the Polarity Map®;\nSupport “leverage” (maximizing the upside benefits in the polarity tension and minimizing the downside limitations) by identifying Coaching Action Steps and Early Warning Signs.\n\nLearning Objectives:\nBy the end of part 2 (10/2 — CLIENT FOCUS)\, participants will be able to: \n\nDistinguish between a solvable problem and unsolvable interdependent pairs or “polarities\,” and review a list of common polarities that all Clients are “in”;\nSee and Map a polarity that has relevance for any client using the Polarity Map®;\n\nSupport “leverage” (maximizing the upside benefits and minimizing the downside limitations) by Identifying Coaching Action Steps and Early Warning Signs. \nParticipants will take a brief polarity assessment which will measure their perception of how well they leverage “Challenge” And “Support” in their coaching work. You will learn aggregate results during the webinars. This should only take five minutes or less to complete.
